Aseptic osteomyelitis of the calcaneus Volume 26, issue 2, Juin 2010

Authors

Chronic non-bacterial osteomyelitis is an inflammatory, non-infectious disorder of the skeletal system. Besides bone inflammation, patients may present with inflammatory involvement of other tissues. We describe the case of a 37-year-old male patient, who presented with aseptic osteomyelitis of the calcaneus. The microbiological cultures and histology of the bone biopsy specimens remained negative. The aetiology in this case is probably a spondyloarthropathy.
