Many drugs (vaccines, insulins, plasma-derived medicinal products, other biologic products) require cold storage. Despite an increasing number of new and costly cold-storage drugs, the automation of cold storage suffers from a lack of technological innovation. The installation of an automated drug storage and delivery robot in a cold room has much improved inventories and led to a cost effective storage. We suggest to the hospital pharmacist to consider the new automation feature for cold storage drugs.
