Predominant liver metastatic disease concerns 30% of colorectal cancers. Systemic chemotherapy (cytotoxic agents and targeted therapies) greatly improved the prognosis of these patients. Hepatic intra-arterial chemotherapy is based on the preferential vasculature of liver metastases by the hepatic artery, which allows lesions to be exposed to a high cytotoxic concentration while limiting systemic toxicity. It has been effective for many years in advanced stages. Evaluation of its place in earlier stages is pending.
