The physiological and functional characteristics of children have an impact not only on the drug's physical outcome in the body, but also on their response to treatment and the occurrence of side-effects. However, few clinical studies are carried out in the pediatric population and prescribers often do not have any dosage adjustments validated by a Paediatric Use Marketing Authorization (AMM).
We will see in this paper that age affects many parameters. In a second part, the various families of psychotropic drugs are reviewed.
