The hospitalization of a minor in a general psychiatric ward raises fundamental ethical and therapeutical issues, as well as potential exposure to traumatizing events. This study aims to objectify these situations, the different ways of hospitalization and the global pathways of care for minor patients. Our study has, at the same time, permitted critical thinking of current clinical practice as well as the division between pediatric psychiatry and general psychiatry.
Our study emphasizes, in particular, the existence of severe cases in adolescents and the need for their admission to a specific intensive care ward in accordance with clinical, medico-social and social pathways.
