JACIE is a European program adapted from the American FACT program for accreditation for blood and marrow transplantation. JACIE is strongly supported by the European Blood and Bone Marrow Transplantation Group (EBMT) and should become required for unrelated transplant programs in all European centres. JACIE covers clinical aspects, collection and blood and marrow progenitor cell processing by establishing standards for each of these three activities. The program development is long, difficult, needs the help of quality control professionnals, but finally aims at improving patient management and communication between all the actors of transplant. Moreover, the implementation of such program should overflow the transplant field and indirectly benefit to other hematology activities. In France, 6 centres are accredited until now; the other ones have been inspected and are expecting the report.
