This news is based on the following article: Huang P-C, Cheng M-T, Guo H-R. Representative survey on idiopathic environmental intolerance attributed to electromagnetic fields in Taiwan and comparison with the international literature. Environ Health 2018 ; 17 : 5. doi : 10.1186/s12940-018-0351-8
Two surveys applying the same protocol to assess the prevalence of electrohypersensitivity in the population of Taiwan found that in 2012 it had dropped to nearly one third of its level in 2007. This trend moves in the opposite direction of the extension and use of mobile telephony, but is consistent with the decrease in the number of alarming press articles. The latter decrease is a plausible explanation for the authors’ findings.
