Erythroplasia of Queyrat (EQ), Bowen's disease and squamous cell carcinoma in situ are all synonymous terms for localized, full-thickness cytological atypia of the epidermis. EQ progresses to invasive carcinoma in up to 30% of cases [1]. A role of HPV infection in EQ is possible, although available data are scant [2-5].
