Despite the increasing incidence of atopic dermatitis (AD), systemic treatments are still limited. Oral cyclosporine A (CsA) is the only approved drug for patients with moderate-to-severe AD failing to respond to topical agents. However, its use is limited by toxicity, which hampers the long-term management of AD.
