Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) of the skin is the most common malignant tumour. BCC most frequently occurs in fair-skinned populations, particularly in countries at low latitudes. The age-adjusted incidence per 100,000 inhabitants varies from 106 in Canada to 1193 in Townsville, North Queensland, Australia [1, 2].
