A 14-year-old patient was referred to the dermatology department due to a chronic discharge of the right ear canal. She reported a long-standing history of painful swelling of the same ear since the age of two and was diagnosed with “difficult-to-treat” chronic otitis externa. On examination, we found a 4x3-cm firm, non-pulsatile, and immobile subcutaneous preauricular mass of the right ear (figure 1A). The patient reported no auricular trauma and no episodes of bleeding.
