Hypomelanosis of Ito (HI) was first reported in 1952 [1]. In 1992, Ruiz-Maldonado et al. proposed diagnostic criteria for HI [2]. It is typically characterized by more than two hypopigmented segments with extracutaneous manifestations, i.e. nervous and/or musculoskeletal abnormalities [2].
