An 88-year-old woman presented to our dermatology outpatient clinic with an ulcerative, painful wound on her nose. She had been diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) 2 months previously and started using bilevel positive airway pressure (BPAP) for ten minutes per hour (figures 1B-C).
