A 49-year-old woman presented with a one-year history of multiple asymptomatic, well-demarcated, and erythematous plaques on her face (figure 1A). The manifestation began as a coin-sized erythematous papule on the right cheek that gradually grew into large, confluent plaques which covered the entire face, giving a leonine appearance.
