Contact vitiligo is an acquired form of skin depigmentation caused by certain chemicals that are toxic to melanocytes, including aromatic or aliphatic derivatives of phenols and catechols [1]. Environmental factors or chemicals inhibit tyrosinase and subsequently induce stress within melanocytes, initiating or exacerbating the autoimmunity associated with vitiligo.
