Basosquamous carcinoma (BSC) histologically consists of basal cell carcinoma (BCC) admixed with foci of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). The pathological hallmark of the tumour (though not always present) is the transition zone, consisting of intermediate cells between the areas of BCC and SCC.
