Case 1A 40-year-old female presented with diffuse non-scarring scalp alopecia, ongoing for the past 13 years (figure 1A) . Broken hairs of variable lengths and excoriations were visible (figures 2A,B) , and the pull test was negative. She admitted pulling her hair to relieve ill-defined scalp symptoms.
