Anticancer treatment: towards a better selection of patients

Journal de Pharmacie Clinique. Volume 27, Number 3, 125-32, juillet, août, septembre, article original

Résumé   Article gratuit

Author(s) : Dominique Levêque

Summary : Numerous cancer patients do not respond to treatment. Chemotherapy can occasionally cause life-threatening toxic effects and is costly. Thus, there is a need to identify predictive biomarkers than can reliably select responders or non-responders. This paper presents recent examples of anticancer drugs for which markers of response have been identified. Therapeutic implications in terms of selection of patients are discussed.

Keywords : anticancer treatment, selection, biomarkers of response
