Summary : The use of pictograms to transcript drugs information has not been accorded attention in France as much as in foreign countries over the past few years. In the framework of good drug use, it has seemed us interesting to assess pictogram contribution to patient information.
We present a prospective study including one hundred patients to whom we asked to suggest a meaning for 17 pictograms illustrating common drug use precautions. Goals of this study were :
– to investigate the method of evaluation we used to analyze collected data from the patients,
– to determine whether if the use of pictograms to communicate drugs information to patient is enough or if pictograms have to be used in combination with textual material (or with verbal reinforcement). |
