Summary : Prescriptors therapeutical errors, which consequences are often serious, are, in general, underestimated. We studied form or technical errors relating to the pratical prescription. The emergency care unit, which is caracterised by a high patient turnover, by a work overload and by a high prescription’s volums, makes a good sample for such a survey. The conclusion is that the prescription sheet of an emergency care unit must encourage accuracy and regularity, the prescription being considered as a communication tool used to gain clarity and readability. The therapeutical incidents prevention must remain a major concern for prescriptors and distributors, in order to make the patient trust the care system again and for economical reasons.

Keywords : prescription, emergency care unit, prescription error, prescription guidelines.
