Interest of the therapeutic drug monitoring of main antibiotics

Summary : The therapeutic drug monitoring aims at optimising the prescribed dosages to improve efficacy and prevent toxicity. The aim of this study were to review the main pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic properties of aminoglycosides, glycopeptides and ceftazidime. Then, the therapeutic drug monitoring of these antibiotics and their methods of analysis is reviewed.
