Diurnal variations in rainfall in Senegal

Science et changements planétaires / Sécheresse. Volume 8, Number 3, 157, Septembre 1997, Notes originales

Résumé

Author(s) : Cheikh Sadibou Sow

Summary : Diurnal variations in rainfall were studied at four Senegalese meteorological stations during May, June, July, August, September and October 1992 and in 1993, using the monthly climatic tables for Dakar, Zinguinchor and Tambacounda. Generally speaking, maximum rainfall occurs between 10pm and 9am, which is more or less consistent with the cloud cover observed from satellites.
