Summary : Confocal laser endomicroscopy (CLE) is a new endoscopic technique which enables us to perform an in vivo histological diagnosis during the examination. It increases the field of the biopsies with a good correlation with pathology. CLE can explore in vivo some cellular mechanisms so we can understand the physiopathology of intestinal diseases such as inflammatory bowel diseases. In the future, CLE, associated with antibodies, will offer us interesting opportunities.

Keywords : confocal laser endomicroscopy, digestive endoscopy, histologic diagnosis in vivo
