Farmland: From physical space to social construct. Challenges for the future and the contribution of research

Oléagineux, Corps Gras, Lipides. Volume 7, Number 6, 474-9, Novembre - Décembre 2000, Dossier : "Agriculture, recherche et territoire"

Résumé   Article gratuit

Author(s) : Michel Sebillotte

Summary : Territory isn’t cut according to the agricultural production system henceforth. Territory is a social build. So, in order to broach the environmental question, the area cutting out can no longer only refer to ecological limits. Environmental results are depending on production choices and on environment. Research can find place in resolving problems thanks to a global vision taking into account different factors impartially. Research can offer a prospective vision of future.

Keywords : local development, environment, territory, research, social construction.
