Summary : In this study, we used a model called «SIMUDEF» to assess climatic conditions of the Saïss region (Morocco) and simulate effects of the water stress on wheat.
The model was used to test the behaviour of six wheat genotypes differing in their earliness (80, 100, 120, 140, 160 and 180 days to maturity). The model generated results useful in characterizing regional climatic conditions (rainfall distribution, evapotranspiration, climatic deficit). In addition, crop evapotranspiration and crop water deficit were determined for the six genotypes tested. It was shown that the genotype best adapted to the Saïss climatic patterns had a 140 days maturity cycle. |
