The pathophysiology of autoimmune thrombocytopenic purpura (the most common form of autoimmune cytopenia) and autoimmune haemolytic anaemias is still poorly understood, and their treatment is mainly based on the recommendations of experts.

Certain refractory autoimmune cytopenias require specialised management of patients with the most severe forms, as well as access to new molecules (biotherapies).

At the dawn of this therapeutic revolution, a monograph on autoimmune cytopenias was needed to update the knowledge of doctors (clinicians as well as biologists) in haematology: better understanding of the pathophysiology, an assessment of current therapeutic advances, improvement in the management of patients.

This training book addresses in a practical and pedagogical manner the diagnosis and treatment of the main forms of autoimmune cytopenia: Immune thrombocytopenic purpura, haemolytic anaemias and erythroblastopenias, either isolated or in combination with other pathologies (lymphoid blood diseases, connective tissue diseases, immune deficiencies, infections).

Conceived as a guide, this summary will interest a broad audience of doctors, specialised or not in haematology, such as internal medicine doctors and immunologists. This practical work is also intended for hospital pharmacists and intensive care practitioners.
