Summary : The word camptocormia is used to describe an abnormal thoracolumbar kyphosis caused by a weakness of the erector spinal muscles. This abnormal curvature, also called bent spine syndrome, cause frequently low back pain. Several etiologies must be suspected and diagnostic approach is based on clinical examination and results of investigations such as biological tests, electroneuromyography, spinal and muscle imaging. Therapeutic management depends on the cause and specific treatment is first initiated when possible. General symptomatic approach includes physiotherapy and orthopedic management. |
