Summary : Verrucous carcinoma, a variant of squamous cell carcinoma, is distinct from squamous cell carcinoma in morphology and behavior. We report an unusual case of a large pedunculated verrucous carcinoma on the right thigh of a 73-year-old male without any preceding skin lesion. Histologic examination revealed a cauliflower-like tumor consisting of deeply invaginated epidermal proliferation, and the intact basement membrane. To our knowledge the “pedunculated” cutaneous verrucous carcinoma has not been previously reported.
