Summary : Video-EEG has now become an indispensable tool for the presurgical evaluation of partial epilepsy. It cannot, however, completely replace the need for the active observation and examination of the patient during the seizure as only they can furnish the essential information that remains beyond the scope of simple visual recording but is necessary for the establishment of precise electro-clinical correlations. The importance of direct interaction with the patient during the recording of a temporal seizure is demonstrated. It is based on the coherent search for significative subjective and objective signs as well as possible deficits during the interictal, perictal and postictal periods.

Keywords : partial epilepsy, temporal lobe seizures, electro-clinical correlation, video-electroencephalography.
