Book written in french
A feature shared by all the myeloproliferative disorders is the existence of an acquired haematopoietic stem cell abnormality characterised by the clonal expansion of one or more myeloid lines. This work explores the clonal expansion arising in the four major syndromes concerned: - Vaquez' disease, - essential thrombocythemia, - chronic myeloid leukaemia, - and primary myelofibrosis. The book then discusses the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions, with particular emphasis on the advantages and disadvantages of the different treatments available, and how to choose and then use these treatments which have changed substantially over the last few years. The last part of the book deals with the other myeloid disorders, including atypical chronic myeloid leukaemia which combines the characteristics of both myelodysplastic and myeloproliferative disorders.
