The annual Immunodermatology Seminars at Lyon offer a regular update on the advances made in fundamental and clinical immunodermatology, which are essential for understanding skin physiology and pathology.
These clarifications on the most recent progress in research and diagnostic and therapeutic techniques are essential reading for doctors, researchers and health professionals interested in immunology and dermatology.
This work comprises 16 chapters covering subjects including:
• The physiology of the cutaneous immune system: the biology of dendritic and eosinophilic cells, B lymphocyte differentiation in the lymphatic ganglions, antigen presentation channels by class II CMH molecules, and the role of chimokines in leukocyte traffic in the dermis.
• Physiopathology is concerned with vesicular autoimmune disorders, with cutaneous vasculitis, and with the role of UV, NO and type I and II cytokines in cutaneous inflammation.
• Immunotherapy is concerned with chemical and biological immunosppressors, new ways of immunization via the mucous membranes, and the hopes placed in genetic therapy for inflammatory disorders.
The book is the second volume of this course in immunodermatology, the first volume of which we published in 1997.
