Prognostic impact of tumescent local anaesthesia on survival and recurrence of melanoma following lymphadenectomy Volume 28, numéro 6, November-December 2018

We read the article by Kofler et al. with great interest [1]. The investigators found that distant metastases-free survival in patients with general anaesthesia was statistically significantly worse relative to those with tumescent local anaesthesia. The authors further described a trend towards increased survival with tumescent local anaesthesia regarding recurrence-free and melanoma-specific survival.
